We believe that no one living with cancer should feel alone.
That’s why we organise regular group activities, events and get-togethers aimed at tackling isolation, fostering togetherness and encouraging members to meet others facing similar challenges.

Coffee mornings

Coffee mornings to welcome new members are held twice monthly at the Cherry Lodge centre. These friendly get-togethers are hosted by a member of the Cherry Lodge nursing team and are a great way to get to know more about us and meet some fellow members.

Held on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, from 10.30 am to 12.00 pm. For more information email karen@cherrylodgecancercare.org.uk or phone her on 020 8441 7000.

Drop-ins

Members’ drop-in sessions are held weekly. This is a member-led get-together for coffee and chat, but nurse Karen or volunteer coordinator Caroline often attend and will introduce new members.

Usually held on Tuesdays from 10.00 am to 1.30 pm, at the Open Door Centre, St Albans Road, Barnet EN5 4LA. For more information email karen@cherrylodgecancercare.org.uk or phone her on 020 8441 7000.

Knitting group

Knitters of any skill level are welcome at our friendly knitting sessions – they’re a great chance for a chat and a catch-up.

Held from 1.30 pm on the last Wednesday of the month at the Cherry Lodge centre. For more information email nisha@cherrylodgecancercare.org.uk
or phone her on 020 8441 7000.

Fundraising events

Our fundraising events are always friendly affairs attended by many members of the Cherry Lodge family, including past and present members, and their family and friends. From quiz, music and comedy nights to flower arranging, walks and fairs, they’re a great way to meet people and feel more connected to your local community.

I can’t overestimate the importance of meeting others who’ve lived through similar experiences at the Drop-in sessions at Cherry Lodge, especially since I lost my partner two years ago.
