“At Cherry Lodge we have the time and space to consider the whole person and understand individual needs, no matter your background, gender or age.”
Karen, Cancer Information Nurse

There are so many aspects of living with cancer that hospital clinicians do not have the resources to tackle – and that’s where Cherry Lodge steps in. Our mission is to improve quality of life and boost wellbeing for people living with cancer in the borough of Barnet and surrounding area, by complementing hospital treatments and offering support to family, friends and carers. We treat our members as individuals, tailoring support to specific needs, and aim to provide information, comfort and companionship to anyone who needs us, completely free of charge for as long as needed.

Our vision

Our vision is that everyone whose life has been affected by cancer should be able to live with dignity, enjoy life to the fullest and feel supported every step of the way.

Our values

Our approach is based on the following core values:

Partnership & professionalism

We believe collaboration is the best way to fulfil our mission and we work in close partnership with local GPs and hospital and community healthcare services. Our approach is founded in deep-rooted professionalism and experience. We have medical professionals on our board of trustees and nurses with specialist cancer experience and community nursing backgrounds leading our service provision. Our therapists are certified by relevant professional bodies, and our non-medical staff and volunteers receive appropriate training.

Inclusivity & respect

We believe everyone should be treated with dignity and without judgement at all times. The confidentiality and wishes of our members are always respected. We welcome everyone who needs us, regardless of background, age or gender, and provide outreach for those unable to visit our centre in person.

Nobody living with cancer should struggle unnecessarily. That’s what Cherry Lodge is all about – we’re here to support you every step of the way.
